After we received from you the buildings with your correspondence of 2.4.41 concerning the implementation of the crematorium, we must alter the earlier planned aeration and ventilation installations for the individual rooms. We have for this reason prepared a new drawing D 59394, from which you can see the arrangements of the ventilation and aeration fans, In general we have, so far as this was possible, followed your building plans lying in front of us.
The exhaust air shafts we have, as you specified, in your drawing 1183/74 implemented underneath the attic; however in this case these two exhaust air shafts will not be pulled together, rather between these exhaust air shafts a further two more will be included, as we have inscribed this in our drawing D 59394 on the floor plan of the attic.
In the ceiling of the oven room over each oven 2 exhaust air openings are to be provided. Each exhaust air opening has a size of 250 x 500 mm. The individual exhaust air openings will connect to a single exhaust air collection duct of iron construction, which will be delivered by us.
As already mentioned, the exhaust air will be forced in the open air by a fan in a yet to be detailed duct with clearance width of 500 x 840 mm.
In the corridor the oven room and the dissection room an intermediate ceiling [false ceiling] is to be introduced. The clearance height of these air exhaust ducts consists of circa 300 mm.
The individual cut-outs in the brick wall for the dissection room into the Washing and Laying-out room we have recorded in the drawing and these are to be carried out accordingly. For the removal of exhaust air, a duct with clearance width of 300 x 500 mm is envisaged. The spatial dimensions of mortuary cellar 1 and 2 have been altered. This has resulted in different entrance and exit openings for the fresh air inwards- and for the exhaust air outwards- direction.
The allocation as for the dimensions of brick work or duct openings we have indicated exactly in the drawing and these are to be kept to.
The layout of the main duct has remained the same, as we indicated to you; even so we had to change some cross-sections. We request you particularly respect this for the construction.
Further we would like to point that with the construction of the ducts as far as possible avoid sharp corners and the turnings be rounded off.
In the mortuary cellar 2 we propose cast-iron piping for the removal of exhaust air. The main pipe will be laid in the ceiling of the room and a recess in the separation wall from the larger cellar to the smaller cellar is proposed for the introduction of the piping. After the piping is brought in the opening is to be plastered up.
For the corpse cellar 1 you should provide an exhaust air duct with a clearance width of 600 by 500 mm and for the corpse cellar 2 an exhaust air duct of 800 x 500 mm. The side-on drawings of the individual room from us will follow in the next days.
Further enclosed you receive the construction drawings over setting up of the suction draft installations Nr D 59389. With the construction of smoke flues and of the chimney, you would want to keep very precisely to the measures we provide in our drawing.
We have, in order to protect the motor against warmth, some alterations of the dividing walls carried out and we request you also arrange these dividing walls according to our drawing.
As is visible from the drawing you delivered to us, you wish to move the rubbish incinerating oven to the right outer wall. You might wish to take note, that this oven possesses an opening for rubbish disposal at both ends and as a consequence the oven must also be loaded from both sides. Therefore we have, as you can see from our earlier drawing D 59434, returned the rubbish disposal oven to the middle and this position must be retained, as a result the flue for this oven must also as our drawing intends.

Nachdem wir von Ihnen die Baupläne mit ihrem Schreiben vom 2.4.42 über die Ausführung des Krematoriums erhielten, mussten wir die von uns bereits früher geplante Be- und Entlüftungsanlage für die einzlenen Räume umändern. Wir haben aus diesem Grund eine neue Zeichnung D 59394 angefertigt, aus welcher Sie die Aufstellung der Be- und Entlüftungs-Ventilatoren ersehen können. Im allgemeinen haben wir uns, soweit dieses möglich war, nach Ihren vorliegenden Bauplänen gerichtet.
Die Abluftschächte haben wir, wie von Ihnen angegeben, in Ihrer Zeichnung 1173/74 bis unterhalb des Dachgeschosses so ausgeführt; jedoch werden diese beiden Abluftschächte dann nicht zusammengezogen, sondern müssen zwischen diesen Abluftschächten noch 2 weitere vorgesehen werden, wie wir dieses in unserer Zeichnung D 59394 im Grundriss vom Dachgeschoss eingetragen haben.
In der Decke des Ofenraumes werden über jedem Ofen 2 Abluftöffnungen vorgesehen. Jede Abluftöffnung hat eine Grösse von 250 x 500 mm. Die einzelnen Abluftöffnungen werden an eine Abluft-Sammelrohrleitung in schmiedeeiserner Ausführung, welche von uns geliefert wird, angeschlossen.
Wie bereits vorerwähnt, wird die Abluft von einem Gebläse in einem noch vorzusehenden Schacht mit einer lichten Weite von 500 x 840 mm ins Freie gedrückt.
In dem Flur zwischen Ofenraum und Sezierraum ist eine Zwischendecke einzuziehen. Das lichte Höhenmass dieses Abluftkanals beträgt ca. 300 mm. Ferner möchten wir darauf verweisen, dass bei der Ausführung der Kanäle möglichst scharfe Ecken vermieden und, wenn möglich, die Umkehrungen abgerundet werden. Für den Liechenkeller 2 werden für die Fortführung der Abluft schmiedeeiserne Rohrleitungen von uns vorgesehen. Die Hauptrohrleitung wird an die decke des Raumes verlegt und ist eine Aussparung in der Trennungswand von dem grossen Keller zum kleinen Keller von ca 1000 x 600 mm vorerst für die Durchführung der Rohrleitung vorzusehen. Ferner erhalten Sie anliegend die Ausführungszeichnung über die Aufstellung der Saugzuganlagen Nr D 59389. Bei der Ausführung der Rauchgaskanäle und des schornsteins wollen Sie die von uns in der Zeichnung aufgeführten Masse genaustens einhalten.
Wir haben, um die Motore gegen Wärme zu schützen, einige Änderungen von Trennwänden vorgenommen und bitten wir Sie auch, diese Trennwände nach unserer Zeichnung anzuordnen.
Wie aus Ihrer uns zugestellten Zeichnung ersichtlich ist, wollen Sie den Müllverbrennungsofen nach der rechten Aussenwand zu versetzen. Sie wollen bitte beachten, dass dieser Ofen an den beiden Stirnseiten eine Aufgabevorrichtung für das Müllmaterial besitzt und demzufolge auch der Ofen von beiden Seiten beschickt werden muss. Daher haben wir,w ie Sie aus unserer früheren Zeichnung D 59434 ersehen können, den Müllverbrennungsofen nach der Mitte zu gerückt und muss diese Stellung beibehalten werden, demzfolge muss der Rauchkanal für diesen Ofen auch unserer Zeichnung vorgesehen werden.
